316-722-7613 ext. 101 Laura began serving Covenant as Associate Pastor in July 2008. Four years later, she accepted the call to serve as Head Pastor. Simply put, Laura loves being a pastor. She feels it is an honor to walk with people through all times in their lives – from the joyous moments to the most difficult. She considers Covenant a wonderful place – a true family – where different ideas are welcome and celebrated. Her vision for ministry is that Covenant be a place where she can teach and be taught, nurture and be nurtured, love and be loved. Under her leadership, Covenant has experienced many great joys over the past few years. The newly renovated sanctuary along with many other renovation projects reveals her passion for the church to continue to evolve and meet the needs of a diverse and growing population. She thrives on the energy of the congregation and the hustle-bustle of a busy church serving the needs of the community. Traveling with mission trips are a special delight to her. In the summer of 2012, she visited Haiti with a mission team that provided water to villages. Committed to Covenant being a “city on a hill” she encourages the staff and congregation to participate in many service and mission projects each year. jwiseman@covenantwichita.org
316-722-7613 ext. 104 Joseph began his service to Covenant in 2003 as a Youth Volunteer. In 2005, he became the Youth Ministry Team Coordinator. Eight years later, in January 2013, he accepted the call to join Covenant full-time to minister to youth and young adults, and in 2016 became the Associate Pastor. In the years that Joseph has worked with young people at Covenant, he has relished the opportunity to enjoy Jesus Christ with people of all ages. In his role as Youth Director, he feels every day presents new and exciting challenges and joys. His enthusiasm to meet the needs of young people and involve them in church life is remarkable. Whether it’s setting up a Gaga Ball pit for teens to play with, or arranging fun outings for every day of Spring Break – Joseph goes the extra mile to relate to people and let them know they are safe, loved and welcome at Covenant. Joseph spent 14 years learning about people in an industrial setting and two years as a full time social worker in the mental health field. Joseph feels that God has him right where God wants him at this time. Joseph’s dream for the Youth Ministry at Covenant is that it continues to be an ever-strengthening place where people, young and old, can gather in a safe and loving space to be refreshed, energized, nurtured, fed, and equipped to take and spread Christ’s message with them wherever they go. liz.mbirdcpa@sbcglobal.net
